Isabella Wairimu Malaika was born on the 28th of November 2007 at exactly 16.47 (Finnish time). Her height was 49cm and weight 3360g. Her due day was 11.11.2007 but well, she decided to go further for like 2 weeks or so....:) The labour was started but it took like 3 days from the starting to the day that she was finally taken out with c-section. It seemed that she could've even stayed longer if it was possible..hehe..there was no hurry for her to come out. :)
Aanyways, I was taken in to hospital 26.11. and I got some tablets to start the labour...got contractions but there was no changes..I was not opening at all...on 27th around midnight the water broke but it was brownish/greenish so I went to ask if everything is fine and they told me to just take it easy and its ok and that I go and take a shower if I hv contractions...so I did, but they were getting more and more. I tried to call Phares but he was not hearing my phone calls...probably sleeping so deeply as usual...;)...I almost panicked since I didn't have anyone now there to help me out apart from the midwives who just told me to relax...;)....I got to the maternity ward around 4 am and I also managed to get in touch with Phares and he came there around 5.30am....the water was dripping all the time but it was green, the pain was too much....the midviwes were changing shifts so I don't even know who was there sometimes :D hehe...Only one of them was really nice and helpful to me...I got the epidural around noon and ooooh, it was so reliefing...phew....the doctors were wondering why I am not opening even though I have so much pain, etc. Around 16hrs another doctor came and checked and told me that the baby cannot come out the normal way because my hips are too narrow and the head is not facing the right way...I panicked again, because at this point Phares had left the room for some coffee or something....and when I called him, he was actually at home, making food for Simon...I told him that they are going to take me for c-section because nothing is happening, so if he wants to be here, he should hurry and be there in 10 minutes. :D I was taken to the surgery room and given a spinal anesthesia....oh boy, I have never ever experienced such bad thing..I was given too much so I practically felt like I was dying..I could not feel myself breathing..I panicked..My eyes were dry and my mouth and I was just gasping for some breath....luckily Phares was there holding my hand and trying to calm me down...well...everything happened fast...while I was there gasping for some breath, I heard a baby gal screaming and ooooh...I was happy but scared at the same time. Phares took the baby and people started fixing me now and took me to the recovery room where I started freezing so much...that my teeth were just rattling :D....
Phares came with our beautiful baby girl Isabella and ooooh we were so so happy and proud parents. :) It was still the happiest moment of my life. :)

The list could go on and on...the first year is always the most exciting when the small baby learns so many new things. She started daycare when she was around 10-11 months and the first year of daycare brought alot of sickness also into the picture. Isabella had so so many ear infections and bad coughs...had to get her asthma inhalator and everything. Phares went to Sweden to work there and I was then alone with a constantly sick girl....the ear infections were really bothering...I didn't want to give her antibiotics and such and then the doctor even told that she has to be put the tubes to help the earinfections....well, that brought a big big issue at home with Phares. He was totally against that Isabella would be operated...even if it was just a small operation. We fought and fought and I did not know what to do....He told me that it has to be treated the natural way, the traditional way like they do in Kenya.....and that was to put either gun oil or pig/chicken oil to the ear couple of times and the ear infections would stop right away. Well...I was shocked about putting gun oil to the ear...and was against it....:D When we moved to Sweden in May -09, we decided that if she still has the ear infections, I can take her for the operation....we went to the doctor before summer and they said that she has to get the tubes but that it can only be done after summer..in August....so we booked a day for another check up after summer...when we went, the doctor was surprised to see that the ears had fully recovered :D....when I told that to Phares, he told me that I should've believed him in the first place because he put the gun oil to her ears in secret now and that is why they are cured :D. Never doubt old traditions! :D
Well, that was just a small story about her from the past. :) I could tell alot of things about her and I surely will even, but not now....
I will make this now "short" introduction....
Now almost 5 years later, our dear lil' princess has become a pretty independent and determined girl. She really has her own will and nowadays we fight alot with her. She doesn't want to listen or obey us parents...specially me...testing me alot but I guess that is pretty normal for her age? I am the one who should learn how to be more understanding and more patient with her...that is what I think. :) But it ain't always so easy.....
She is adorable and caring and very sensitive girl, but when she wants to be naughty, she really is...:)...will that ever pass or is this just the start?? :) hehe...well, that will be for us to see.....
Have a great day now everyone...here some pictures from our lil' Malaika...:)
